Identity Considerations

This guide will help you ensure that your mobile applications work well and reflect the University’s visual identity and values. The identity guidelines below pertain to University-Published apps.  They have been developed with simplicity and ease of use in mind.

Separate guidelines govern mobile apps designed by vendors and self-published apps.  If you’re not sure what kind of app you have and what identity guidelines to follow, refer to these guidelines.

Required: Splash Screen and Acknowledgements


Your app must include a splash screen that launches when the app is first opened.  The introductory splash screen uses the university background, logo and font to identify University affiliation.  As part of the application process, UChicago Creative will furnish you with a customized splash screen in portrait and landscape formats.  Several examples are below.





Your app must have an about section (or equivalent).  In this section, the following information should be provided and the university wordmark incorporated.  UChicago Creative can either approve your work or furnish a template for such a page.
